Gero Guttzeit (PhD, JLU Giessen 2014) specialises in transatlantic literatures and rhetorical cultures of the long nineteenth century. His first book on The Figures of Edgar Allan Poe: Authorship, Antebellum Literature, and Transatlantic Rhetoric was published by DeGruyter in 2017 (https://www.degruyter.com/viewbooktoc/product/480547). He currently works on his second monograph on the trope of corporeal invisibility. His other research interests include genre studies, creative writing, and the interrelations of philosophy and literature.
