free first try ('freier Prüfungsversuch')
According to §11(6) of the exam and coruse regulations (PStO MA (2017)) there is a free first try ("freier Prüfungsversuch") for module exams in the MA. This free first try inly applies under the following conditions. These are roughly (please consult the PStO for detailed and legally relevant information):
- The exam is first taken within the normal programme length ("Regelstudienzeit"; i.e. within the first 4 semesters)
- The exam (first try) has really been taken, i.e. the student has sat the exam/participated in the oral exam/handed in the assignments in time; the first try is not free if students have registered but not sat an exam or not handed in the required assignment(s) in time.
