Getting to Munich

by train: To the central station (Hauptbahnhof).
- by plane:
- Munich Airport (MUC) is located around 45 minutes from the city centre. From the airport, take the S-Bahn (S1/S8) into the city.
- Allgäu Airport Memmingen (FMM). The Allgäu-Airport-Express takes you to Munich in 1 hour 25 minutes.
- by car: Note that public parking spaces in the university area cost 6€ per day (streets with parking spaces open for non-residents are marked in blue on the maps for the neighbouring areas "Akademieviertel", "Pinakotheken", "Schönfeldviertel" and "Giselastraße" here).
Getting to the conference
The SEM will take place at the LMU's Institute for English Philology, Schellingstraße 3. Use the metro exit Universität (U3/U6), or Odeonsplatz (U3/U6/U4/U5) to get there. See the public transport network map and the Munich public transport system for further information. For public transport, it is advisable to either get a stripe ticket / Streifenkarte (€12,50) which you can use for 5 normal or 10 short journeys, a day ticket (6,- single; 11,20 for up to 5 persons), or a three-day ticket (15,- single; 25,90 for up to 5 persons). Please note that you have to validate the tickets on the platform before you get on the train.

The conference warming on Thursday takes place in the library (Schellingstr. 3, back building, first floor, Room 156), followed by dinner in the restaurant da Mario (Adalbertstraße 15).
