Fresh from the printers: Perspectives on Homelessness
14.02.2022
Perspectives on Homelessness, edited by Anna Flügge and Giorgia Tommasi, was just published by Winter Verlag. The essays in this collection explore homelessness both as the literal state of being unsheltered and as the modern and contemporary condition of being and/or feeling estranged from society. The contributions also reflect on the meaning of home in relation to race, class, gender, migration and mobility in an American and transnational context. The book's distinctive interdisciplinary approach focuses on representations of home and homelessness in modern and contemporary fiction, film, and video games, as well as philosophical, historical, political and architectural discussions of homelessness. |
